Product Safety and Colour Information

Effective date: 1st September 2026

ChromaGuard Custom Coatings is operated by A&B Building Services Pty Ltd, ABN 70 152 812 612.

This information explains how to select, handle and use our coatings and how to confirm your colour requirements. Read it with the product label, current Safety Data Sheet and Technical Data Sheet before purchase and use.

Product documents

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) describes product hazards, handling, storage, exposure controls, first aid, spill response, disposal and transport information. The Technical Data Sheet (TDS) provides application information such as surface preparation, mixing, coverage, recoating and curing requirements.

Use the documents for the exact product and each component supplied. Contact us if a document is unavailable, unclear or inconsistent with other instructions. Resolve any uncertainty before using the product. This page does not replace product-specific instructions or a workplace risk assessment.

Suitability and application

Before ordering, tell us about the intended use, substrate, existing coatings, exposure conditions and any required performance standards. Suitability can depend on the complete coating system, surface condition and application method. Our technical team provides advice within the scope of our expertise and experience. Where a project requires specialist assessment, certification or advice outside our scope, an appropriately qualified specialist should be consulted.

Check whether the selected pack includes all required components or is a separately supplied Part A or Part B. Follow the specified mixing ratio, compatible components, approved thinners, application conditions, pot life and curing requirements. Do not substitute components or alter the product formulation unless compatibility and suitability have been confirmed by the relevant product supplier or manufacturer.

Dry to the touch does not necessarily mean fully cured or ready for use. Refer to the relevant TDS for applicable drying, recoat and curing times.

Safe handling and storage

Hazards differ between products and components. Follow the label and SDS for ventilation, protective equipment, ignition controls and other precautions. Select controls appropriate to the task and work environment; do not assume every product has the same requirements.

Keep products labelled and securely stored under the specified conditions, away from children and unauthorised access. Follow shelf-life and storage instructions. Dangerous goods classification and transport requirements must be checked against the relevant SDS; a classification for one product must not be applied to the entire range.

For exposure, leaks or spills, follow the SDS and seek urgent medical or emergency assistance where needed. Do not attempt cleanup unless it is safe and you are equipped to do so. Dispose of unused material and containers in accordance with the SDS and applicable local requirements.

Colour selection and confirmation

Available colours and finishes depend on the product and pack size. A “standard” or “pre-set” colour may still be tinted to order. Custom tinting is subject to product compatibility and supplier confirmation.

Provide the colour name or exact code together with the required finish, where applicable. A colour entered in an order note is a request until we confirm it can be supplied. Where a colour cannot be supplied as requested, we will discuss the available options before proceeding with tinting.

Screens and physical samples

Website images, digital swatches and printed reproductions are guides. Screen settings, lighting and reproduction methods can change how a colour appears. The finished appearance may also be affected by substrate, texture, gloss, application method and lighting at the site.

If colour matching is important, contact us before ordering to discuss an appropriate physical reference or sample. Sample availability, costs and lead times must be confirmed. Retain any agreed sample or reference and confirm whether the order is being supplied to match it.

Checking colour and batch consistency

Check the product, colour reference, finish and batch details before application. Where appropriate, assess a small test area using the specified coating system and allow it to cure before evaluating the result under the intended lighting.

Order sufficient material for a continuous area where practical. Different batches, later touch-ups and weathered coatings may show differences in appearance. Contact us if material appears incorrect or inconsistent, and pause further application while the concern is assessed. These checks do not remove your rights if a problem becomes apparent later.

Normal appearance differences do not excuse a product that fails to match its agreed description or sample, or otherwise fails to meet applicable consumer guarantees.

Specialist performance

Where a product is offered for specialist uses, such as slip resistance, conductivity, electrostatic control or chemical resistance, confirm the requirements of the intended project before ordering. Performance may depend on the complete system, preparation, film thickness, application, curing, testing and maintenance, including earthing where required.

An individual product purchase does not itself certify an installation or establish compliance with a project specification. Confirm any required test evidence, certification or installation assessment with us and the relevant qualified professional.
